Just wondering why the long silence?

A few reasons really. Change of jobs, working on another project, feeling that this blog was not generating enough interest, and as other similar sites started springing up, feeling the subject was fully covered elsewhere.

However thanks to (both) recent comments, I've had a re-think, and decided to continue things, with a bit of twitter integration.

I find it interesting that Paul predicted the current economic chaos. It seems to me the climate of debt, both personal and organisational, has finally led to world bankruptsy and find it ironic that China is now in a position to lend the western world money. I have thought for many years that the way in which we use our natural resourses is very destructive. Nothing is returned to the land that is being taken from.
In days of old there was a cyclical process of sowing, harvesting and returning waste matter to the land. Everything had a value and purpose and was biodegradable. Current practices take much from the land and produce materials that are toxic to our environment and will not biodegrade and become useful. They will stay in the system as a toxic waste that will continue to harm for centuries to come. The global economic system discussed, to me has the same quality I have just described where people take much more than they really need leaving others in abject poverty. Greed and avarice are more overt now and everyone for themselves. This is not a world we want to leave to our grandchildren. But does anyone know the solution? My instincts tell me to move towards simplification, take only what you need and leave something for others. Take care of the land and the land will take care of us. RESPECT is my key word. If everyone takes this word as their guiding principle then all wars would discontinue and the world would be a much better place. Respect for others. Respect for self. Respect for different cultures and beliefs. Respect for differences in nature and temperament. You may think you already do this, but I challenge you to think of the times when you dismiss someone or what they do and are impatient with your family. I will leave you with the word RESPECT and see if you can live with the challenge
